Sue Wolstenholme, of Ashley Public Relations in east Cornwall, has become one of the first Chartered PR Practitioners in the world and the only one to qualify, so far, in the west of England region.

Chartered Practitioner is a senior professional status awarded to members of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) who can demonstrate an outstanding level of professional practice and knowledge, and a commitment to continuous learning.

CIPR acting director general Ann Mealor said: “Those receiving Chartered Practitioner status this year are all pioneers, setting the bar for future generations of PR leaders. They’ve had to successfully complete a rigorous assessment process to emerge as the profession’s first Chartered PR Practitioners and are to be congratulated.

“This is a landmark for the CIPR and the PR profession as a whole.”
