Chartered accountancy Bishop Fleming is hailing its progress on the Business in the Community (BITC) Tracker.
The achievement signifies a significant step towards a more sustainable and responsible business approach, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The BITC Responsible Business Tracker is an assessment tool that evaluates a company’s performance in responsible business practices. It enables participating businesses to measure their progress against a Responsible Business Map, which is derived from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and tailored to meet the most relevant areas for businesses.
This tool not only aids in recognising strengths and opportunities for improvement but also facilitates benchmarking against peers.
Bishop Fleming has increased its overall score from 20% in 2022 to 48% in 2023. This represents a 140% surge, placing the firm above the average score of other respondents who have undergone Tracker benchmarking in the past year.
Fleur Lewis, partner and responsible business lead, said: “We are extremely encouraged by the progress we have made, but we also recognise that there is more work to be done. We are committed to continuously monitoring and measuring our progress and setting forward-looking objectives to enhance our responsible business framework.”
Ewan McClymont, newly appointed head of responsible business, added: “Our progress in the BITC Responsible Business Tracker is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. We are proud of the positive impact we are creating and will continue to push boundaries for a more responsible and sustainable future.”
