Cornwall Airport Newquay’s new links with Birmingham and Inverness got underway at the weekend.

easyJet is operating the services twice a week through the summer, on Saturdays and Tuesdays to Birmingham and Sundays and Wednesdays to Inverness.

Airport MD, Pete Downes, said: Birmingham has been one of our most requested routes in recent months, so we are delighted to welcome the inaugural service of EasyJet’s newest route connecting Cornwall to the Midlands.

The new route to Inverness is the longest scheduled flight within the British Isles, highlighting the importance of domestic air connectivity for a journey that would otherwise take more than 12 hours by surface transport.

“With the commencement of this fifth new route at Newquay in a matter of weeks we’re delighted to be strengthening our route network with easyJet, offering even better access to and from Cornwall for this summer,” Downes added.
