An organic compost company in North Cornwall is celebrating a successful 12 months by unveiling new expansion plans.

TT Compost, which is based in St Tudy, near Bodmin, has seen turnover double in the last year since the appointment of a new marketing manager under the Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) scheme.

TT Compost's marketing manager, Ben Lake, is planning further growth

Ben Lake, who has been retained by the business following the end of the UCP programme, has overseen a rebranding and marketing exercise that has lead to the company’s product, Cornish Compost, being used by the Eden Project and the National Trust.

“The last 12 months have been incredibly successful for us having seen our turnover double,” said Lake.

“The new packaging we launched in February has had a notable impact on the sale of our small bags of compost.

“We have also increased the number of stockists to 12 across Cornwall, which has made it even easier for people to buy our high quality peat-free compost.”

During the last year TT Compost has sold over 5,000 tonnes of organic peat-free compost to a range of customers including those in agriculture, professional horticulture, golf courses, private households and gardening enthusiasts.
