Neil Scott has announced that he will be retiring from his position at Totally Truro as Truro’s Business Improvement (BID) Manager later this year. Scott has been managing Truro’s BID scheme since 2007 and successfully led the Truro BID through its renewal in 2012. In his nine years in Truro, Scott has delivered a wide range of projects and new initiatives all aimed at championing Truro as a great little city, celebrating its unique mix of businesses, people, events and environment.
Projects include Truro’s Christmas lights, the annual music, arts and culture ‘Truro Festival’, the annual fashion festival ‘Truro Trend’, the first comprehensive website for Truro, a wide ranging programme of advertising and marketing materials and award winning floral displays.
Scott said; “It has been an amazing nine years working in Truro, delivering the first BID in Cornwall and I am immensely proud of all that has been achieved through the BID, the Truro business community and with the many friends and colleagues that I have had the honour and pleasure to work with over the years. I now look forward to my retirement and challenges and adventures anew.”
Scott will be working through to the end of September before handing over the reins to his successor. The Truro BID will be seeking a second renewal in the autumn of 2017 for a further five year term and will be recruiting a new BID Manager to help shape the plans for the third phase of the Truro BID and then onwards to delivering a new business plan. The position will be advertised and interested parties are asked to contact firstname.lastname@example.org .
