Friends and colleagues gathered recently to celebrate the retirement of a “well known and well-loved character” from Liskeard.

Sue Glencross

Almost 60 guests attended the leaving party of Sue Glencross, who retires from her position at Coodes Solicitors in the town after 18 years with the firm.

The party took place at Eliot House Hotel, where she was presented with gifts and flowers from colleagues.

Alongside her work in conveyancing, wills and probate with Coodes, Glencross has been particularly committed to Stuart House – the historic house at the centre of Liskeard, famous for accommodating King Charles I.

She has been involved with the Stuart House Trust, the charity which runs the community building to keep a crucial piece of Liskeard history alive.

Jeremy Harvey, managing partner at Coodes Solicitors, said: “Sue is a very well known and well-loved character who has been very important to the firm. She has been hugely influential in building relationships with clients in both Launceston and Liskeard.

“She has been planning her retirement for a couple of years to make sure her clients are well looked after. We will certainly miss her and wish her a happy retirement”

Her clients will be taken on by Sarah Cornish, Alex Tomlinson and Kevin George at Coodes’s Liskeard office.
