The 2013 St Ives September Festival will see major backing from luxury holiday specialist Cornish Gems, which will mark the beginning of a five-year relationship.

With Show Of Hands’ Steve Knightley and Phil Beer as patrons, the St Ives September Festival will take place from September 14-28.

Cornish Gems’ support comes at a crucial time when the festival’s website needs to be rebuilt, branding evolved and materials such as banners and flags reproduced.

St Ives September Festival’s chairman, Dave Brotherton, says he is delighted that Cornish Gems’ support will enable this. He commented: “We are extremely grateful to Cornish Gems for coming on board as our headline sponsor for 2013 onwards.

“Over the years, the committee of volunteers have worked tirelessly to build the St Ives September Festival into a celebration of music, arts and literature. Cornish Gems’ financial support over the forthcoming five years will help cement the future growth and success of the festival.”

Gems director Julianne Shelton added: “St Ives is where Cornish Gems started trading six years ago and over 50% of our ‘Gems’ are located within the borough so we are delighted to be supporting an event that is so vital to its community.

“We hope that the 2013 festival will be enjoyed by more visitors and locals than ever before and over the next five years Cornish Gems’ on-going support will help drive awareness to bring more and more people to the event.”
