The new £6.2 million St Austell Business Park welcomed its first guests to the newly completed penthouse business rooms for a professional manufacturing forum.

The site, which is in its final stages of completion, is the new home of St Austell Printing Company.

It also features conference and office facilities for rent that has views across the county, from Rough Tor and Dartmoor in the east to Carn Brea and Goonhilly in the west.

“We’re delighted to welcome members of the business community to the Business Park,” said Peter Moody, St Austell Printing Company’s managing director.

“This was our first event so it was a good opportunity to get feedback on the location and facilities that we offer here.”

The forum, organised by Martyn Pearson from the South West Manufacturing Advisory Service (SWMAS), was an opportunity for members of the Cornwall Manufacturers’ Forum, which is made up of representatives from some of the region’s largest manufacturers to get a preview of the brand new eco-building.

One delegate, David Yallop, operations director for St Austell’s Polymer Medics, has watched the park evolve over the last four years.

He said: “What Peter’s done here is unbelievable. I’ve followed progress every day as I drive past the site, so to be able to come inside and have a look at what it’s become is just amazing. This is what the south west needs more of – it’s fantastic.”

The brand new business park offers commercial units for rent, as well as conference and office space, and a large new factory for St Austell Printing Company.
