A new ecommerce website specifically designed to sell the products of a Cornish wool mill has been launched after being produced by Truro web development agency, Precise Minds Ltd and graphic design company, Nine Design Ltd based near Newquay.

The Natural Fibre Company (NFC), a Launceston based yarn producer, has launched the new on-line shop  to feature its exclusive new range of products including scarves, pashminas, throws and blankets.

The latest development comes as part of a structured growth plan for the company which benefited from a Finance Cornwall investment package earlier in 2008, alongside other investment from the South West Investment Group (SWIG) and a South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) grant.

Sue Blacker, a sheep breeder and former investment analyst, who purchased and began managing the business three years ago said: “The new website will be an integral part of our development. During the last few years we have created a relatively small-scale, yet strong, commercial operation in adding value to wool from rare and coloured breeds of sheep, turning it into high quality balls of yarn.

“The natural colour and quality of our yarn has provided us with a certain niche in the market place. We are now confident that our new range of ‘Blacker Designs’ products which are made from those very same fibres will become equally as desired by consumers both on a local and national level.”

Robert Seymour, managing director of Finance Cornwall fund managers, led the latest investment deal for Finance Cornwall and said: “We are pleased to be once more investing in a specialist business that can only bring benefits to the Cornish economy. We look forward to playing a significant role in the company’s current and future success.”
