A Cornish accountant has said ‘No No No’ to rehab after checking out as division finance director for healthcare specialists Priory Healthcare (The Priory) to re-launch his father’s accountancy practice in St Austell.

Chartered accountant David Harland has returned to his Cornish roots to head up the newly-branded Harland Accountancy as well as opening a new office in Liskeard.

Harland started his career on Marks & Spencer’s financial management scheme and the English Welsh and Scottish International Railways (EWS) before heading up The Priory’s Acute Healthcare division in London.

The new practice has grown out of Michael Harland Chartered Accountants, which he took over last year and is already showing signs of expansion.

He said: “Working at a high profile organisation like The Priory was a fantastic experience but it’s been great to return to Cornwall, and building on my Dad’s work was an ideal opportunity to break into new markets and offer new services in the county.

“St Austell has always had fantastic potential, which is finally being realised and I am looking forward to working with local businesses – old and new.”
