Creatives in Cornwall are being encouraged to register their interest in a new support scheme available.
Creative UK’s Cornwall Create Growth Programme is offering up to 60 businesses an extensive support package over the course of nine months – all at no cost.
A call out to businesses trading or operating in the following industries: advertising and marketing, architecture, crafts, design and fashion (including textiles), film, TV, video, radio, photography, IT, software, and computer services (including gaming), publishing, museums, galleries and libraries, music, performing and visual arts.
Programme lead, Suzie West, said: “Cornish and Isles of Scilly businesses are innovative, diverse, and ambitious, with a grounded understanding of people and places. They have imaginative solutions to sustainability, high growth and export, and an innate collaborative spirit. They are simply incredible!
“We are now here to give them help in breaking down barriers to access markets, understand finance language and support them with seeking out networks for investment. If local creative business owners or founders are thinking about how to keep their creative business moving forward, then this is a fantastic free opportunity for them.”
The Cornwall Create Growth Programme launched in November and will run until March 2025. The deadline for programme one applications is Friday (Apr 21) with the commencement in May until January 2024.
Programme two’s application deadline is in September with the programme commencing from October and running until June 2024. The third and final programme application deadline is April 2024 with the programme starting in May 2024 and running until January 2025.
The Create Growth Programme is funded by the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) and aims to support creative businesses in planning for growth and exploring and securing commercial investment opportunities. Cornwall was one of only six regions to be awarded support through the Create Growth Programme. The Creative UK Cornwall team are delivering this newly funded DCMS business support programme to connect and support creative scaleup activity that is bespoke to Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.
