Cornwall-based speaker, Iain Scott, will be spreading his creative enterprise message in the north of the country at the end of this month.

Scott, who is the mind and drive behind the Enterprise Cafe, will be among some of the UK’s top enterprise speakers at the Chance to Change event, which is being held at Newcastle’s Civic Centre on February 22.

The conference, which is being funded by One North East and supported by Newcastle City Council and Business Link, is a one day event aimed at people who may be considering escaping the world of employment and looking to create their own job or venture.

The event is the latest in a series of speaking opportunities for Scott, including most recently, the ‘Be an Entrepreneur for a Day’ event.

He regularly hosts workshops for audiences who strive to learn enterprise, and is often a guest speaker for organisations and companies on specific enterprise and regeneration related themes. Past clients include Scottish Enterprise, Yorkshire Forward, DTI (now BIS, Department for Business Innovation and Skills), Leeds City Council and Women into Business.

Scott said: “It’s a great pleasure to be asked to speak at events such as Chance to Change. Unlike most business start up sessions, my courses focus on the person, rather than just their idea and I spend a lot of time encouraging people to think like an entrepreneur rather than focusing on business planning.”
