A new company has been launched to help businesses in Cornwall win tenders.
It is the brainchild of Helen Trudgeon, who recently left the Convergence-funded Partner to Succeed project, which she set up on behalf of YTKO to promote collaborative working within the Duchy.
She says that businesses of all sizes are missing out on opportunities to expand, simply because they do not understand the tendering process.
She said: “Businesses may know what tenders are out there, but there is a perception that the process is too time consuming and complicated to become involved in, whether in the public or private sector.”
Trudgeon helps businesses put their bids together, including writing the final documents and presentations, believing that bringing in an independent, objective partner can only strengthen a tender.
She can also help companies get ‘tender ready’, identifying what key data and documentation they need to pull together so they can respond rapidly when suitable projects arises.
“Unsurprisingly,” she added, “businesses look at what can be quite an involved process and decide it’s not for them. What I do is work closely with them to overcome these issues, taking them through the tender process from start to finish and making it is as straightforward and uncomplicated as possible.”
