The Royal Cornwall Show has revealed its two chosen charities for 2024.

It has announced two worthwhile causes, both striving to save lives albeit in different ways – the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and Citizens Advice Cornwall.

This year, the RNLI is celebrating 200 years of service having saved over 146,000 lives with its lifeboat crews and lifeguards. Over 7,000 lives in Cornwall alone have been saved.

Citizens Advice Cornwall, meanwhile, offers free and confidential advice on a wide range of issues. In the past year, it helped more than 8,000 people with their problems, and have helped people in the county gain £4.6 million in income, with 88% of people agreeing that the charity helped them find a way forward.

The Royal Cornwall Show takes place from June 6-8.
