Leading Cornish holiday home company, Cornish Gems, has selected Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) as its charity of the year.

SAS recently launched its latest community campaign, the Million Mile Beach Clean, to help reconnect people with nature and promote positive physical and mental wellbeing. It is also campaigning for clean water, an end to plastic pollution, action on climate change and conservation education in schools.

Emma Fashokun, guest experience and corporate social responsibility manager at Cornish Gems, said: “Our team live and breathe the Cornish lifestyle and feel privileged to share Cornwall’s incredible landscape with our guests.

“We recognise that there is shared responsibility between businesses, residents and visitors to take care of it – so we’re thrilled to be supporting SAS on their mission and also hopefully show how we can all do our bit to make a positive environmental impact.”

The Gems Charity of the Year initiative began in 2018 and has so far raised over £14k for worthy causes, with donations being shared with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, the Cornwall Air Ambulance and the RNLI.
