A Michelin-starred chef turned educator has joined Cornwall College as its new corporate curriculum lead for retail and service industries across its seven county sites.

Simon Cook

Simon Cook, who will also be head of faculty for the same area on the Camborne campus, has relocated from Somerset to take up the role to lead the strategic development of the faculty, both academically and commercially.

After completing his apprenticeship at Suffolk College, Cook moved to London to work at the Hotel Intercontinental for two years before moving to Germany, where he worked in various establishments and picked up his first Michelin star.

Then following two years working in South Africa, Cook returned to the UK and moved into education, completing his teacher training at Bournemouth and Poole College whilst working at the Chewton Glen Hotel in the New Forest. He then took a role at Aylesbury College in Buckinghamshire in 2001 before moving to Somerset College in 2004.
