2018 winners the Flindall Family of Chypraze Farm with HRH The Duke of Cornwall

Entries are now open for a prestigious competition that celebrates innovation within the Cornish agricultural industry.

The 2022 edition of the Duke of Cornwall’s Award is open to farms based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly who operate successful diversification enterprises to supplement their core agricultural business.

The winner of this award will receive a signed certificate provided by His Royal Highness The Duke of Cornwall, and a cash prize of £1k. The presentation will take place during this year’s Royal Cornwall Show (9-11 June).

The Dustow Family from Lostwithiel won the award in 2021, after they evolved their ‘potato honesty box’ into a fully-fledged, locally sourced, farm shop in the wake of the pandemic.

Entries are currently being welcomed from any relevant individual, business or organisation, with nominations also accepted from third parties.

Chris Riddle, RCAA Secretary, said: “Learning about all these innovative projects is certainly a highlight for our judging panel, it is always a delight to see some of the incredible ideas and innovations that are taking place within Cornwall’s farms.”
