A Wadebridge businessman is celebrating a busy first year at the helm of one of the Cornwall’s leading water companies.

Cascade Springs’ managing director, William Hiley, bought the business in 2008 from its founder Dan Carolan, who returned to his native Canada with his family.

Since taking charge Hiley has overseen the company’s expansion, rebranding, the introduction of a new invoicing system and a move into new markets.

“It has been an incredibly busy and highly enjoyable first year at Cascade,” said Hiley, who also runs other well-established businesses across the south west.

“Dan had built up a very successful business over 15 years, but I saw a lot of potential for the business to grow and expand.

“So we set about a programme of development including introducing new branding, new vans and new computerised invoicing system.

“But even with all the changes there is one thing that has stayed the same – we’re still providing our great tasting and refreshing water that comes from our very own spring here at our site near Wadebridge.”

Over the last 12 months the company, which is known for supplying water coolers across the region, has launched a range of 500ml bottled water and become the first water cooler distributor in Cornwall and Devon to achieve approved status for installing point of use water coolers.

The company gained Water Industry Approved Plumber Scheme (WIAPS) status after taking part in a point of use water cooler installers course led by training company, WRcNSF.

Hiley added: “Unlike a bottled cooler, a point of use machine connects direct to the mains water supply and removes chemicals and impurities to bring tap water up to higher quality and better taste – similar to spring water.

“As a result we now have four qualified installers and are the only drinking water distributor legally allowed to self-certify the installation of mains fed coolers.”
