In a show of support to Cornwall’s dedicated frontline NHS workers, Cornish law firm Stephens Scown LLP is offering a 50% discount on will-writing services to workers in the county.
To accommodate shift working, legal advisors at Stephens Scown are available to discuss wills out-of-hours by video call with NHS workers in Cornwall.
Phil Reed, partner in the firm’s private client team, said: “The NHS’s dedicated workers are putting themselves on the frontline every day in the fight against coronavirus. We are so grateful to them and we wanted to show our support by offering a discount on one of our key services at this challenging time.
“Hopefully, a will won’t be needed until long after it is written and our experience is that having a will in place provides a great deal of peace of mind.”
“In response to social distancing measures, Stephens Scown has introduced a new process to write and execute wills. We are able to email, phone or videocall clients to discuss or make wills. We are already successfully arranging will signings for clients in their own homes using neighbours and friends as witnesses, whilst complying fully with the law and the Government’s social distancing guidance.”
NHS workers can also access a discount on Power of Attorney services if they make a Will with the firm.
The firm is also supporting NHS workers in Devon with the same offer, as staff in both counties are bearing the brunt of efforts to tackle coronavirus in the region.
