Passenger bookings for 2024 on Skybus and Scillonian III have increased by 53.9% compared to this time last year.

More than a quarter of these (26.4%) are from new passengers looking to experience the islands for the first time and over 80% of these bookings have been made online.

Stuart Reid, chief executive of the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group, said: “2024 is already looking promising and we are gearing up for another strong and healthy season.

“We are extremely proud of our service and would like to thank the tens of thousands of passengers who travel with us every year.”

The news comes as the group officially marks the end of another successful season, with the final Skybus flights from Exeter and Newquay and the last Scillonian III sailing of the year having taken place. Skybus flights from Land’s End Airport continue throughout the winter.

Skybus carried almost 10,000 passengers from Exeter and Newquay airports between May and October this year and celebrated more than 30 years of flying from each airport.

Scillonian III carried over 120,000 passengers during the season and will now undergo a period of maintenance to prepare her for 2024 – with her first sailing scheduled for March 18.
