Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) has appointed a new manager.

Mark Warren, who will take up the post on August 1, comes from a strong retail background with over 35 years of experience.

He has most recently been managing fashion retail store, New Look, in Truro and previously spent five years at Newquay’s Dorothy Perkins store.

He also has extensive Business Improvement District experience having worked closely with Truro BID since its inception.

He said: “I am really pleased to have been appointed as the new Newquay BID manager. I want to make a real difference to the business community that I was once a part of. With my 35+ years’ experience in retail on the high street, including in Newquay, I understand the challenges that come with the current climate, from recruitment to retention, expenditure, and wellbeing.

“Having been on the other side, I know what the members want and need and can identify with them. In that sense, I bring a 360-degree perspective and I won’t be afraid to shake things up a little.”
