A Cornish branding and web development agency has secured a major new contract for a national hotel group.

The Woolley Grange near Bath

The agreement will see Hayle-based Nixon Design rebrand and create new websites for seven luxury hotels across the UK.

Halcyon Hotels and Resorts, headed by experienced local hotelier Nigel Chapman, has acquired five hotels trading under the Luxury Family Hotels banner – Fowey Hall in Cornwall, Woolley Grange Hotel near Bath, Moonfleet Manor in Dorset, The Ickworth in Suffolk and The Elms in Warwickshire. Halcyon has also acquired Thornbury Castle near Bristol and New Park Manor in Hampshire.

Last year, Chapman purchased The Polurrian Bay Hotel at Mullion and asked Hayle-based Nixon to develop a new brand for the hotel alongside a new website. Nixon has also completed a major branding project for the Martinhal luxury resort in the Algarve, in which Chapman is also a partner.

Nixon MD Martin Nixon commented: “Clearly we are absolutely delighted to be working on this very exciting project. It is a fantastic opportunity for our team and once again proves that world class design can be found in Cornwall.

“We have expanded our team as a direct result, so this project will also contribute directly to the local economy with the provision of full time skilled employment.”

Halcyon’s Marketing Director, Adrian Burley, added: “Having worked with Nixon on the Martinhal project and subsequently on the rebranding of the Polurrian Bay Hotel, it was a natural progression to invite Nixon to work on the Luxury Family Hotels account.

“I have worked with some major London-based design agencies and I can confidently say that Nixon offer a very credible alternative.”
