Production at Clearwood UK’s Redruth plant is set to expand following the acquisition of an Oxford-based window company by its parent Performance Windows Group (PWG).

The acquisition of Timberwindows.com, which last year has sales of £6 million, and which is regarded as the UK’s leading online timber window company, will see further production output at Clearwood UK, which recently celebrated the most successful 12 months of trading in its history.

According to PWG Chairman and Chief Executive Roy Wakeman, the acquisition of TimberWindows.com gives the company access into new markets and provides further growth opportunities.

He said: “The opportunity to buy into the fastest growing e-commerce provider of high quality timber windows and doorsets was too good to miss and will add considerable value to the existing well-known brands in the Group.

“The acquisition of TimberWindows.com is another step towards PWG’s ambition of building a substantial and diverse timber fenestration group of well recognised brands in the UK.”

Clearwood UK MD Treve Temby welcomed the announcement of the latest acquisition for PWG and said: “Not only is it good news as we are likely to see increased production here in Redruth, but it is further evidence that we are part of a growing, proactive national company that is bucking the current economic decline.”
