Following feedback from members, Newquay Business Improvement District has rejuvenated Newquay Business Week and for the first time, the sessions will predominantly focus on wellbeing.

Over the course of five days (March 13-17), Newquay BID members and voluntary members are invited to attend any or all of the sessions of Newquay Business Wellbeing Week, which have been designed to help local businesses focus on the physical and mental health of the owners, their team members and their customers.

Sessions across the week include Breathwork For Resilience and Focus with former professional rugby player and now Newquay resident Anthony Mullally, X-HAIL with Jessica Vella-Templeton, a mix of modern mindfulness and meditation techniques and various tester sessions at Newquay Leisure Centre.

First aid training sessions with Kernow Training Sessions and a session on Increasing Sales with retail expert Frances Riseley are also on offer – all at no cost to Newquay BID businesses.

Newquay BID manager, Mark Warren, said: “As we’ve been going around talking to all our businesses, and conducting our now regular ‘street meets’ there’s so much feedback about high stress and anxiety levels, as a result of the ongoing uncertainty caused by the pandemic and current national business challenges.  This is amongst owners, team members and customers as well.

“So, we’ve designed a number of sessions this year to provide training and insights into techniques that can help. Newquay is becoming renowned as a wellbeing-based destination, so now our local businesses can benefit from the tips and training from some of our best practitioners.”
