Darren Hoare

International events manager, Darren Hoare has teamed up with Truro and Penwith College Business to deliver a free webinar in virtual event management.

Hoare, originally from Truro, has a decade of event management experience that has seen him deliver events from Cornwall to the Middle East, working with brands such as Porsche, Caesars Palace and Meraas.

His impressive career has included working at high-profile festivals such as The Diriyah Seasons, a series of international sports and entertainment events in Saudi Arabia and Yasalam, the official after-race concert of the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix with headline acts including Mumford & Sons, Calvin Harris and Pink.

The Utilising Virtual Events webinar will run twice from 9:30am on Friday 26 February 26 and Tuesday March 2. Thanks to part-funding from the European Social Fund (ESF) and the college’s Innovation in Higher Level Skills, Digital Skills for Growth and Hospitality Table Cornwall projects, the event is free to attend.

The webinar is primarily aimed at those looking to move a physical event to the virtual space due to impacts of Covid-19 and anyone working for an SME or micro business (including sole traders) in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly is eligible to attend.

Covering how to design, plan and deliver a virtual event, the session will introduce software, tools, techniques and Hoare’s hints and tips to manage a successful virtual event that achieves business objectives.
