Truro-based PR and comms agency Wild West Communications is in line to be awarded B Corp certification.

“A passion for doing business in a way that benefits the greater good” earned Wild West an initial B Corp assessment score of 88.5 – not only smashing the 80-point bar for certification but achieving an ‘excelled’ rating in the people and governance metrics. The rigorous B Corp assessment measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance.

Wild West hopes to receive official B Corporation Certification in the coming months (coronavirus dependent), proof that the business is meeting the highest standards of verified performance.

MD Georgie Upton said: “B Corp certification is about ensuring we are doing business the right way – forever.  We are lucky enough to have a brilliant team of talented people; we already have an ongoing commitment to the third sector, and our environmental responsibility has been the extra piece to the triple bottom line jigsaw of people, profit, planet.

“We have been inspired by many incredible brands who continue to prove that it is possible to operate a profitable business whilst caring for people and the planet.

“B Corp is also our way of bringing together all the extra great stuff we do. As an agency we are proud that we drive the Young & Talented Cornwall initiative – a fund to help young people reach their potential, as well the Cornwall Christmas Fair which to date has raised over £750k for Macmillan Cancer Support.
