Starting this spring, Superfast Business Cornwall will provide business support to ambitious businesses in the Duchy, helping them to harness the opportunities of superfast broadband and associated technologies.

Two specialist ‘digital business enablers’ will work intensively with businesses, providing them with access to 19 days of dedicated support, a range of national and regional expertise by specialist and IT suppliers, including Microsoft, and an online knowledge hub.

Eligible businesses will also be able to apply for matched funding to help them undertake large transformational information and communication technology (ICT) projects that will improve their access to new markets and develop business opportunities.

Adam Chambers, chief executive of Peninsula Enterprise, said: “The opportunities that superfast broadband can provide businesses in Cornwall are transformational and we are delighted to be involved.

“This service is an exciting addition to the work we are already delivering successfully in the county, namely: Export Cornwall – UKTI Convergence Service, UK Trade and Investment Programme and the Rural Focus Service.”

Sebeail Fowell, project and partnership manager for the programme, added: “The Superfast Business Cornwall service will help businesses access invaluable knowledge, expertise and funding to enable them to exploit all the opportunities that superfast broadband can provide.

“We look forward to working closely with partners, stakeholders and Superfast Cornwall to deliver this exciting service.”
