The date for this year’s ROC 5K charity fun run has been confirmed.
The three-mile event will take place after work on Tuesday June 28, starting and finishing at Truro’s Lemon Quay. The majority of the route takes in the city’s beautiful riverside and Boscawen Park.
The date was announced at a reception at the Gallery Café in Lemon Street Market, Truro, attended by more than 70 business and community leaders.
ROC (Robert Owen Communities) is a charity which supports vulnerable local people with learning disabilities. The launch highlighted the charity’s drive for work place inclusion for the people it supports and ROC Active, a new sport and recreation service it is introducing in Cornwall.
In a sell-out event, 400 community spirited individuals and teams from all over the county took part in The ROC 5K last year, raising more than £13k. People of all abilities can run, jog or walk the scenic route. The minimum age is 11.
