A fundraising event organised by a group of friends who took part in this year’s ‘Azores and back’ yacht race has raised £3344 for youth charity BF Adventure.

The evening held last week at Flambards in Helston, was arranged by Tony Hogg, John Head and his son Alex to share their adventurous experience with an audience of 350 people.

Britta Hoffmann, marketing and fundraising manager at BF Adventure, said: “We had a brilliant night at Flambards and are very grateful for the generous donation.

“The money will go towards our recently launched ‘Building Brighter Futures’ appeal to replace our old portacabins with new buildings. The new facilities will enable us to support twice as many children in need.”
