Cornwall Manufacturers Group has launched its bi-annual manufacturing awards ahead of its flagship dinner to be held at the Eden Project on April 11.

One of the highlights of the Cornwall business calendar, this year has Lord Hutton, former defence and health minister, as the keynote speaker, with the evening compered by former TV and Sky News presenter David Fitzgerald.

Cornwall Manufacturers Group  CEO, Jon Hurrell, commented: “We are delighted to launch this year’s awards and look forward to a fantastic evening celebrating the very best of manufacturing in Cornwall and the people who are part of it. We expect the competition for awards to be very strong.

“We thank our sponsors once again for supporting us and being part of the event.”

The awards include best apprentice, business leader and exporter, with a special award this time for the CMG Academy Student of the Year. This nationally recognised programme, launched in 2022 with partner Cornwall College, is a groundbreaking initiative to develop the workforce of the future.

The chosen charity for this year’s event is Man Down, supporting mental health in Cornwall.
