Budock Vean apprentice, Joe Halloran, will discover tomorrow whether he has been successful in the regional finals of the National Apprenticeship Awards.
Halloran is an apprentice chef de partie at the hotel and head chef, Christian Jordan, said: “Hats off to Joe, we’ve been continually impressed with his work throughout his apprenticeship, and it’s been a real joy to watch as his skills, confidence and areas of responsibility grow.
“We are very lucky to have him and we’re really proud of his achievements in this year’s National Apprenticeship Awards.”
Halloran, who started out at the Budock Vean as a kitchen porter, now runs breakfast service for over 70 people and prepares lunch menus.
He is a finalist in the Rising Star category with winners announced at the award ceremony on Tuesday October 17.
