The best and the brightest of local business were celebrated at the 2022 Cornwall Business Awards last night (June 30), with 14 enterprises leaving St Mellion Estate with trophies for the mantelpiece.

With awards handed out across 15 categories ranging from Best Place to Work to the Rising Star Award recognising the future business leaders of Cornwall, winners represented a diverse range of sectors including Community Interest Companies and not-for-profits, those in manufacturing, marketing, tech, and many more.

The winners included St Columb’s Mike Martin Window Systems, which went home with two accolades – Best Family Business and Growth Business of the Year.

Natalie Crouch from Peaky Digital was named Business Leader of the Year while the hotly- contested Exporter of the Year trophy went to Feritech Global.

In addition to the 15 categories chosen by an expert panel of judges, each finalist also had the opportunity to win the People’s Choice Award, voted by the public, which this year went to The Cornish Company.

Stu Anderson, operations director for award organisers the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth and Skills Hub said: “A huge congratulations to all of the finalist businesses, and particularly to those who took home an award last night.

“Since the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic we have seen a resilience in business like never before, as well as the realisation of how businesses – both large and small – are essential to the strength of the Cornish economy, and to the health, wellbeing and happiness of our communities and the people who live here.

“Everyone should be rightly proud of their achievements and it is these businesses that are putting Cornwall on the map, adding weight to the county’s burgeoning reputation for innovation, creativity and excellence.”
