The Lost Gardens of Heligan has appointed Laura Chesterfield as its new MD.
Previously head of garden experience at Heligan since 2017, Chesterfield has been instrumental in narrating the rich history of Heligan, from the poignant tales of the Lost Gardeners of the First World War to the remarkable journey of rediscovery and restoration.
A strong affinity with the attraction, Chesterfield’s family were part of the group of people in the early 90’s who re-discovered and restored The Lost Gardens of Heligan and her promotion solidifies her position as an advocate for shaping Heligan’s future path.
She said: “I am delighted to be taking this position after an incredibly successful winter for Heligan following another magical Night Garden, as well as achieving a number of recognitions at the Cornwall Tourism Awards.
“I am very much looking forward to taking Heligan onto the next stage of its journey and beyond.”
