Richard Baker (l) and David Beaumont

With over 30 years’ experience in corporate banking, leading large regional teams to meet the needs of SME and mid corporate clients, David Beaumont has joined law firm, Stephens Scown LLP, as strategic growth consultant.

Initially tasked with helping Stephens Scown’s growth aspirations in Somerset and beyond, with the firm having just opened a new office in Taunton, he will also support the delivery of its wider strategic goals.

In addition, Beaumont will help to maintain the firm’s strong Cornwall client base, where it was first founded in 1938, and further strengthen its standing in the Devon marketplace.

He said: “Having taken early retirement from Lloyds Bank in 2022, I was keen to find new opportunities to share the extensive knowledge I have gained while working with south west businesses to support their growth aspirations, and build a portfolio of activity through Non- Executive Director roles and business support / mentoring, including consultancy projects.

“I have had a long and close working relationship with Stephens Scown over the years, and have always valued the interactions with several key personnel, such as managing partner, Richard Baker, and so when he asked me to help with driving the firm’s strategic goals, it was a simple decision.”

Alongside his new role at Stephens Scown, Beaumont will also take up his role once more as a Non-Executive Director at South West Investment Group.
