Funding has been secured to offer a full time job to a local graduate who has made a big impression during her temporary employment.

Becky Lush was taken on by event management company, Event Cornwall, this summer as a community projects administrator.

Her job involves helping to organise community-based events in and around Truro.

Now thanks to the Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) scheme, Becky is going to continue working for the business in a full-time role.

Director of Event Cornwall, Claire Eason-Bassett, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be able to offer Becky a full-time job with us as she has made a remarkable impression since she joined the company.

“Her work on the City of Lights parade was outstanding, she is enthusiastic, dedicated and a joy to have as part of the team.”

Becky was originally hired on a part-time basis under the Future Jobs Fund – a national scheme that helped young who are out of work find employment – with additional support from the University of Plymouth placement scheme.
