A specialist personal injury solicitor working for regional law firm Stephens Scown has just been elected Trustee of Headway Cornwall.

Associate Matthew Cross, who is based in the company’s Truro office and heads up the Personal Injury team, has taken up the role with the charity which is set up to give help and support to people affected by brain injury.

The Cornwall branch of the organisation, which is largely self-funded, is based in Lostwithiel and is expanding at the end of the month with the opening of a new centre in Truro.

Commenting on his appointment, Cross said he wants to help raise awareness of the charity’s on-going work and further increase its profile in Cornwall.

“Headway Cornwall does a fantastic job and I’m very much looking forward to the challenges this new role will bring,” he said.

“I can help people on a professional basis to get the best financial result for them, and the best care that’s available to them in the interim. Facilities in Cornwall are not great and the higher the profile of brain injury sufferers, the greater chance that facilities will improve.”
