This week twelve ambitious Cornwall-based startups will be leaving Cornwall for some business-fuelled days at Slush.
The sell-out conference taking place in Helsinki, Finland, will attract an international audience of over 12,000 curious minds – from media and investors, to startup founders and business leaders – and includes a state-of-the-art matchmaking tool, unique investment opportunities, peer-to-peer discussions, and engaging fringe-events promising a busy schedule.
The delegation, led and organised by Cornwall Trade and Investment (CTI), is one of the largest events organised by the CTI team, a strong testament to the attractiveness of such an event, and the eagerness of the Cornish business community to expand their reach beyond the UK.
For some, this is their first attendance at a large-scale international event, for others, it’s an opportunity to attract investment and learn from peers – either way, the event has something to offer all attendees.
“We’re excited to attend Slush alongside so many incredible businesses from the region, but more than actually attending, we’re excited to see the outcomes from the event. Previously this has proven to be an invaluable experience for Cornish businesses, and we have high hopes for this year, too”
Nicola Lloyd, Director of Cornwall Trade and Investment
Over the last five years the CTI team have built partnerships within the Nordic region, in addition to attending Slush, the delegation will also be hosted an event organised by the Department for International Trade at the British Embassy, Helsinki, aimed at showcasing what Cornwall can offer to Nordic businesses seeking a UK base.
