Active Cornwall was crowned winner at the UK’s inaugural Active Pregnancy Foundation Awards.
The awards celebrate the people and organisations that support pregnant and postnatal women to become or stay active – shining a light on leadership, good practice, innovation, and research.
Active Cornwall was nominated in the Organisation of the Year category and Tim Marrion, Active Cornwall’s manager for children, young people and families, said: “For the past two years we have been focusing on Early Years and how we support parents throughout pregnancy and beyond and children aged 0 to 5 to be active.
“Sam Lawrence, our lead in this area, has done some amazing work to develop resources and training for professionals working with this target audience on the importance of physical activity and how we all need to work together to change behaviours towards activity.
“It is great to see Sam and ourselves recognised for this hard work and we look forward to continuing to work in this area with the Active Pregnancy Foundation and all our local partners on this journey with us.”
