St Ives is looking for volunteers to joins its Town Deal board.

In June 2021, St Ives was awarded £19.9 million from the Government’s £3.6 billion Towns Fund to transform the town and boost the local economy and nine rejuvenation projects are now entering their delivery phase.

The Town Deal board has had an active role in shaping the Enterprise Grant Scheme which will provide capital grants for businesses in St Ives. As the scheme moves into the delivery phase, the board will continue to steer this project and make decisions on the large investments over £50k.

Members of the Town Deal board include representatives from business, education, community and voluntary sectors as well as local politicians.

“We have a great board of people who are positive about St Ives and want to see the town move forward,” said joint vice chair Gareth Jones. “As we enter the next phase of the programme, with work starting on delivering the projects, we are keen to recruit some new members to join us.”

“We are looking for volunteers with the skills and confidence to bring their voice to the table in order to help deliver the vision set in our Town Investment Plan and the desire to contribute to the town’s regeneration.”

Further information about the role and details on how to apply is available on the St Ives Town Deal website.

The deadline for applications is Friday, May 26.
