BID Camborne has announced that applications for a second round of business improvement grants in Camborne are now open.

Project A-Void is one of 11 projects awarded a total of £23.7 million in Town Deal funding from the Government – the highest amount in Cornwall. The first phase started in October 2020 when more than 60 businesses were awarded up to £5k each – around £262k in total.

With a greater focus on filling empty commercial properties, helping pop-ups, scale-ups and start-ups and installing vibrant welcome signage and branded quarters around the town, another £507k has been secured for the second phase.

Sarah Stevens has been appointed to the role of project manager.

“Sarah has a great deal of relevant experience and we’re delighted she’s joining the team,” said BID Camborne manager, Anna Pascoe.

“We’ve already awarded funding to five local businesses who were on the waiting list from Phase 1 and are now opening applications to everyone else.

“Capital improvement grants are a very effective way of making our town centre a more visually appealing and pleasant place to visit. Phase 1 kickstarted the process and now we can build on the difference that funding made with Phase 2. These are really exciting times for Camborne.”
