Adrian Wright, CEO at Cornish renewable energy consultancy, Happy Energy, has been shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year in the ‘Real Business’ Growing Business Awards.
Wright, who successfully grew his first business from an initial £5k to profits of £1.5 million, before taking a new business in Australia to revenues of $AUD12 million in less than a year, is one of six businesses owners up for the title of Entrepreneur of the Year award.
His current business, Happy Energy, helps homes and businesses save energy by providing and installing energy efficiency measures.
He is shortlisted alongside the founders of transmission technology firm Xtrac, electronic invoicing network provider the Tungsten Corporation, The Gym Group, security firm The Shield Group and global content creation company Quill.
Now in its 16th year, the awards have seen a record number of award entries across the 12 categories in 2014, which include Retail Hero and Export Champion of the Year.
This year’s winners will be announced on November 25 at an awards ceremony in London.
As well as the printed edition, Business Cornwall magazine is also available digitally on iPad, Android and Kindle Fire.
