In what organisers are describing as a ‘Glastonbury moment’, the deadline for this year’s Cornwall Sustainability Awards (CSA) has been extended until midday on Friday (October 24).

Event organiser, Veryan Jones, said: “Firstly we must say a huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to prepare their applications and can only apologise for any problems that they may have encountered when uploading them.

“Quite simply we were overwhelmed with applicants and this meant that some businesses struggled to submit their completed bids online.

“You hear about this kind of thing happening to events like Glastonbury, when the system can’t keep up, but not for the Cornwall Sustainability Awards.”

The extension will enable any businesses that didn’t manage to load their forms and videos to the system to re-apply through the on-line tool, with the option to submit via email on request to info@cornwallsustainabilityawards.org.

The Cornwall Sustainability Awards is in its 12th year this year and celebrates and promotes the work that Cornish businesses do towards becoming more sustainable.
