Mutuality makes a comeback this month as Yorkshire Building Society steps in to offer its products and services to the people of Falmouth after another building society announced plans to close the last remaining building society office in the town.

The new agency will open on January 13 at the Killigrew Street offices of Hine Downing Solicitors – a firm which has been providing independent financial advice through its own financial services company for the last decade.

The launch is part of Yorkshire Building Society’s plans to expand its agency network, with 2010 seeing 15 new offices opened and a further ten already planned for this year.

Anthony Deacon, Partner of Hine Downing said: “Working with the Yorkshire we will continue to provide an alternative to shareholder or government-owned banks and give people in Falmouth choice through a building society that shares our community focussed values.”

Liz Morelli, Yorkshire’s Agency Sales Manager said: “We are delighted to be opening a new agency in Falmouth and are looking forward to working with Hine Downing Solicitors and ensuring that the people of Falmouth still have access to a building society.”
