According to latest figures from Experian, merger and acquisition activity in the south west fell 14% in the second quarter of the year.
However, while the number of deals fell compared to Q1, the value of deals shot up 93% to £5.65 billion.
Nationally, the UK saw a 15.5% decrease in activity, and an 8.7% dip in value to £46.2 billion.
