Owner of Pirate FM, Cornwall-based commercial radio operator, UKRD Group, has been named as a Sunday Times Top 100 Small Company to Work For.
The announcement at the weekend follows hot on the heels of the company being awarded a 3 Star “Best Companies” accreditation a little over a month ago, confirmation of which was accompanied by a business profile in the weekend’s Sunday Times Supplement.
At the awards ceremony at Battersea Evolution in London, the company also learned that it had produced a rating which delivered it 27th place out of 100 accredited in the table of companies recognised.
Chief executive, William Rogers, said that he was “over the moon” with the recognition and that it was a tribute to everyone involved in the 240 strong organisation which owns and operates 15 local commercial radio stations across the country.
“We have an amazing team of people and this award recognises their efforts in building and sustaining what is an amazing place to work. Our culture and business ethos rest at the heart of what we are and it is clear that this has been recognised through our place in the Sunday Times Top 100 Small Companies Award,” he said.
Rogers confirmed that his operation was delivering “strong double digit growth” and “significantly improved profitability” across the first four months of the financial year. “The whole team has had a remarkable start to the year,” he said.
