The Paul Ainsworth Truro & Penwith College Academy is celebrating five years of serving-up top hospitality talent, with a record number of new apprentices starting their journey this year.

A total of ten Apprentices have already progressed to full-time careers with the Paul Ainsworth Collection of restaurants in a variety of roles including highly valuable senior positions of head chef, senior sous chef and assistant sommelier.

The partnership between Truro and Penwith College and the Paul Ainsworth Collection to establish the Paul Ainsworth Truro & Penwith College Academy in 2018 has delivered significant results in tackling skills gaps in hospitality, offering quality career opportunities to local people.

Such is the success of the academy, Paul Ainsworth has recently recruited a record number of six new apprentices with the college to join his collection in the current academic year.

Ainsworth commented: “In 2018 we wanted to work with a college where the students felt comfortable and had good quality lecturers who are knowledgeable about the current industry.

“At Truro and Penwith College, you have quality lecturers invested in hospitality itself, with a foot into the local industry. That is why I wanted to set up an academy with it as our partner. I love seeing how these students progress and how their journeys develop.”

Employers interested in working with the college to offer experiences and opportunities to inspire the next generation are encouraged to sign its Partnership Pledge.
