Cornish Lingerie specialist Mish has been nominated for three awards at the 2021 Drapers Awards, including Lingerie Independent of the Year.

In addition, MD Michèle Poynter has also been nominated for a new award – Covid Community Champion, in recognition of the innovation and support she has offered to customers throughout the Covid pandemic.

The Drapers Independents Awards celebrate the best independent brands across the UK, with an emphasis for 2021 on businesses that have innovated to survive, supported their local communities, and built stronger businesses under the toughest of circumstances.

Poynter explained: “We take pride in offering a service that is second to none and like so many independent retailers across the country, being unable to open our doors due to Covid was heartbreaking.

“We understand the importance of well-fitting bras for women for their health, comfort and to meet their needs during times such as pregnancy. We changed the way we operated to be able to deliver the same level of service in a completely new way by offering the fitting experience and the same bespoke advice we always have, online.

“Being shortlisted for four awards is truly humbling after such a difficult year for independent retailers everywhere, which goes to show the exceptional work that the team have done over the last 18 months in such challenging circumstances.”

In addition to being shortlisted for Best Lingerie Retailer and Covid Community Champion, Mish is also shortlisted for Best Customer Experience and Multichannel Independent of the Year. The specialist lingerie and swimwear retailer based in Wadebridge has previously won recognition at Drapers, having won Best Lingerie Independent on three previous occasions.

The results of the Drapers Independents Awards will be announced on September 23 at the London Hilton Bankside.
