Emily’s café on River Street in Truro is set to reopen after lockdown with a new name – Bread & Butter.

Kate & Charlie Snell, who took over the cafe from Emily & Peter Maher last year, said: “Our first year here has sped by and we’ve loved every second of it. But having reflected during lockdown we felt the time was now right to focus on the future.

“It may seem corny but what drives us is the simple pleasure of putting smiles on our customer’s faces with great tasting food and coffee – and the unfussiness of the name Bread & Butter seemed to perfectly encapsulate this.”

The rebranded café will open for takeaway on Friday June 19, to coincide with the week that shops will reopen.

Initially the café will offer coffee, home-made muffins, brownies and Da Bara cinnamon buns from its doorway which will be part-shielded by a table and a perspex screen, to create a Covid-safe environment.

The café’s popular American pancakes will return before long as click & collect takeaway, with reserved time slots to avoid too much queuing.
