RIO – the Real Ideas Organisation – which runs the shop at 26 Fore Street, is looking for local businesses to come forward with products and services they want to bring to market for short term market testing.

Space in the shop can be rented on a fixed term contract of up to four months, and entrepreneurs can use the opportunity to gain more exposure for their products.

Cornish businesses will have access to free marketing from the young people that RIO works with and business support from the Engine Room – a programme providing start-up and existing social enterprises with expert business advice.

To take advantage of the offer, businesses will pay a reduced rental space or a percentage of revenue from products sold inside the shop, and provide some retail support for the young people working in the shop. For half a day per week, they would work with the young people teaching skills such as customer care, visual merchandising and the importance of product knowledge.

RIO is a social enterprise working to support unemployed young people and ethical local businesses, and this offer provides them with the opportunity to work together, benefitting both businesses and the local community, and equipping young people with the skills that they need to build better futures.

Interested businesses should call RIO on 08458 621288, or email info@realideas.org.
