A new free loyalty card scheme for shoppers in St Austell is to be launched at the end of the month.
The initiative aims to help shoppers get more for their money in the lead up to Christmas and beyond, as a well as supporting local traders, and is a part of wider efforts to revitalise St Austell’s retail economy.
The new card scheme is being supported by White River Place shopping centre, St Austell Town Council and the St Austell BID steering group and will be run by national experts My Loyalty Card.
Shops, cafes and restaurants in St Austell are being invited to join the scheme, which will give card holders access to exclusive discounts and offers which it is hoped will increase footfall in the town centre and provide an economic uplift for participating retailers.
One of the first St Austell businesses to sign up to the scheme is Frankie and Benny’s restaurant which will be offering loyalty cardholders 20% off their bills.
From October 29, shoppers will be able to sign up for the card at a special stall in White River Place.
White River Place Centre Manager Claire Daniel said: “We are delighted to be supporting the loyalty card scheme as a way of rewarding existing customers and encouraging more people to visit and shop in St Austell.
“It is one of a number of initiatives at White River Place designed to drive footfall, support retailers and encourage more economic activity in the town.”
There is no charge for any business wanting to participate in the scheme. Interested shops and local businesses should email for more information.
